If you are in the enviable position where you have a dressing room in your home, then you owe it to yourself to make the most of your space. This step up from the traditional idea of a walk-in wardrobe offers you the opportunity to have space to try on outfits and add a sense of luxury to get ready everyday. This isn’t necessarily a vast space, but we want to help those who are unsure of how to utilise their dressing room. With 20 years of experience creating bespoke fitted and walk-in wardrobes we can offer our opinions here at Neatsmith, shedding some light on how to make the most of your space. Here are some practical ideas that we believe you should include in your dressing room design.
Reflex Glass Doors
Our Reflex Doors are a great way to create a dressing room that feels lighter and airer, especially in narrow spaces. The integrated lighting that comes with our Reflex Doors also helps create a beautiful luxurious environment. You can also pair these with open shelves and open wardrobes, allowing you more space to work with. You might need to be a little bit more organised but you do get to see all your beautiful outfits.
A Chair or an Ottoman
A chair or an ottoman can bring a real sense of luxury and comfort to your Dressing Room and we really encourage our clients to design in a place to sit.Whether you are contemplating your outfit, or just putting on your favourite heels a space to sit in your dressing room really elevates the room, and can help complete the interior look you are going for.
Built-in Laundry Basket
This is one of our favourite accessories! Your laundry basket should be where you get dressed and more particularly undressed. A big laundry basket in the middle of your dressing room is not a luxurious addition to your room - instead, we would recommend using one of our built-in laundry baskets, which slips easily into your wardrobe, keeping it out of sight but not out of mind. We can honestly say that it is one of the most useful accessories that we work with here at Neatsmith.
Creative Wallpaper
If you've decided that wardrobe doors are the right choice for you, then there's no reason why you can't get a bit creative with them. For example, we like to use a fun, creative wallpaper to help bring a little bit of extra magic to your dressing room. This allows you to really tailor your cabinetry in a way that nothing else can. Your space doesn’t need to be dull or conventional. Quality peel and stick wallpaper can be easily removed and replaced if you decide that the style is no longer something that you're interested in.
